The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) presents his compliments
to Member States and has the honour to inform them that the eighth meeting of the Standing
Committee on Health Emergency Prevention, Preparedness and Response (SCHEPPR8) will be
held in a hybrid format on 14–15 April 2026, from 13:00 to 15:30 (CEST) on both days.
Membership of this Committee is as follows: Dr Haji Mohammad Isham Haji Jaafar
(Brunei Darussalam), Professor Plamen Dimitrov (Bulgaria), Dr Pierre Somse (Central African
Republic), Dr Alejandra Pizarro Ibáñez (Chile), Dr Pak Jong Min (Democratic People’s
Republic of Korea), Professor Mohamed Hassany (Egypt), Dr Elmer Roberto Bonilla Espinoza
(El Salvador), Ms Katarzyna Drążek-Laskowska (Poland), Mr Minsoo Park (Republic of Korea),
Dr Riyad Qainan Abdullah Alghamdi (Saudi Arabia), Dr Panumard Yarnwaidsakul (Thailand),
Dr Yawa Djatugbé Apétsianyi (Togo), Chair of the Executive Board ex-officio and the
fourth Vice-Chair of the Executive Board ex-officio.
Registration can be initiated as of 16 March 2026 by going to the following link:
https://events.who.int/SCHEPPR8 and should be completed by 3 April 2026. Registrations will
not be processed after the deadline.
Following registration, a personalized link to access the virtual platform will be sent to
delegates in the days preceding the meeting.
In accordance with resolution WHA49.9 (1996), and to support the aim of achievement of
SDG 5 (Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls), the Director-General
invites Member States to consider that gender balance be applied to their delegations.
