Please find attached a letter from the institute requesting your cooperation. We are currently developing a methodology to collect and publish data on women and men in decision-making in sports organisations. The collection will cover organisations convened at both European and national levels (38 countries) and is restricted (for purposes of comparability) to organisations representing sports recognised by the International Olympic Committee. The data collected will be published in the EIGE database, input to the calculation of the social power domain in EIGE’s Gender Equality Index <http://eige.europa.eu/gender-equality-index> , and may also be used in the context of the joint project <https://pjp-eu.coe.int/fr/web/gender-equality-in-sport/about> of the Council of Europe and European Commission concerning gender balance in sports organisations. At national level, data are being collected for National Olympic Committees and National Sport Federations (i.e. the organisations governing each sport within a country). Our research indicates that there are in excess of 1250 national federations across the countries covered so, in order to ensure a cost-effective approach, the collection will not be comprehensive but based on a representative sample. In order to ensure transparency and comparability between countries, the sample will cover the ten National Sports Federations receiving the highest amount of public/government funding in each country. As the Ministry responsible for sport, we are writing to you for assistance in compiling the list of federations to be covered. You will find attached a short excel questionnaire. Q1 to Q3 have been pre-filled and you are only requested to provide the list of 10 sports federations receiving the highest amount of public funding from the ministry/national budget (Q4) in the most recent round of allocations and information about the frequency of funding allocation (Q5). Note that we are not requesting the amount of funding provided to each Sport Federation. We only need the list (names) of top 10 highest funded sports federations.
