International Labour Conference
(Geneva, 1-12 June 2026)

Dear Minister,
It is my pleasure to inform you that the 114th Session of the International Labour Conference
will be held in person from 1 to 12 June 2026. In accordance with the decision adopted by the
Governing Body at its 355th Session (November 2025), the Conference will be held in Geneva at
the International Labour Organization (ILO) headquarters, the Palais des Nations and the Geneva
International Conference Centre (CICG). The Conference will be preceded by preparatory
meetings of Employers’ and Workers’ groups, which will be conducted in person on
Sunday, 31 May 2026.
This year’s Conference agenda is as follows:
- Standing items:
o Reports of the Chairperson of the Governing Body and of the Director-General;
o Information on the programme and budget and other questions ;
o Information and reports on the application of Conventions and
Recommendations;
- Technical items:
o Standard-setting discussion on decent work in the platform economy (second
discussion);
o General discussion on advancing the transformative agenda for gender equality at
work;
o Recurrent discussion on social dialogue and tripartism.
The Conference will also consider the withdrawal of the Labour Standards (Non-Metropolitan
Territories) Convention, 1947 (No. 83).

I take the opportunity to recall that Member States are required to ensure that national
delegations to the Conference are fully tripartite and balanced as regards the number of
advisers accompanying the respective delegates representing the governments, employers
and workers. I would therefore be grateful if you could share this letter with the most
representative organizations of employers and workers with which you will be holding
consultations for the purposes of determining the composition of the tripartite delegation of
your country to the Conference.
I also take the opportunity to recall that at the 113th Session of the Conference in 2025,
women accounted for 35.6 per cent of participants. I call upon all Member States to spare
no effort to achieve gender parity in national delegations and, in this respect, I invite you
to consult the infographic available on the Conference website.
Concerning the accreditation of delegations, the ILO continues to optimize its secure
Meeting Management System (MMS), which will be opened on 27 April 2026 for the
transmission of credentials that should be submitted by 11 May 2026. Upon the opening of
the MMS, you will receive a communication that should be forwarded to your country’s
designated focal point so that the focal point may register their information in the MMS.
Only registered focal points can proceed to accredit your country’s tripartite delegation.
Further details, including on practical issues such as assistance to participants with
disabilities and visa arrangements, will be published on the Conference website in due
course. This will include details on the high-level event, which is expected to be held on
11 June 2026 and will bring together ILO tripartite constituents, international organizations,
and other relevant stakeholders.
I look forward to welcoming you in Geneva, distinguished Minister, as well as the tripartite
delegation of your country at the 114th Session of the International Labour Conference.
Yours sincerely,
Gilbert F. Houngbo
Director-General
