From: Geological Survey of Estonia 07.03.2025 no 1-4/25-412 To: Ettevõtluse ja Innovatsiooni SA (EIS) Sepise 7, 11415 Tallinn Estonia Letter of support for Geothermal Baltic OÜ’s applied research project Geological Survey of Estonia is pleased to see Geothermal Baltic OÜ developing a project to research geothermal potential in Estonia and the Baltics with the proposed applied research project. We see the importance of deep wells in gaining valuable knowledge for assessing geothermal energy potential and obtaining new data on Estonia’s geological structure, especially its crystalline basement rocks. The project is also valuable for acquiring exploration technologies and advancing drilling methods suited to Estonia’s geological conditions, supporting exploration of geothermal resource and utilization. We are interested in exploring further collaborations with Geothermal Baltic OÜ after the successful completion of the applied research project at the Narva site. Our interest in collaboration extends to obtaining drill cores from the deep wells to analyze Estonia’s basement geology and conditions, as well as applying measurement technologies for geothermal potential. Gaining new knowledge of assessment methods to support the sustainable and efficient utilization of geothermal energy in Estonia will be mutually beneficial and enable broader application of geothermal energy solutions.
