Tirana, on27 May 2024 Mr. Yillu KÕvE Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Estonia Honorable Mr. President, It is an honor and privilege for us that the Constitutional Court of Albania was chosen as the hosting Court for the upcoming XXth Congress of the Conference of European Constitutional Courts. Since becoming a full member of the Conference in 2000, Constitutional Court of Albania has been dedicated to offer its own contribution to our common mission - development and enrichment of constitutional jurisprudence through the exchange of best practices and experiences among the fellow member courts to protect democracy, rule of law and fundamental human rights and freedoms. Even though our constitutional jurisprudences and practices are based on different state's constitutional architectures and national traditions, we are all united to establish uniform standards of constitutional justice, aiming to protect the fundamental values of the rule of law. The Albanian Constitutional Court has always tried throughout its 31 years of existence, to be guided by our holy book, the Constitution ofthe Republic ofAlbania, walking with confident steps on the path paved by its European counterparts, which represent excellent models of constitutional jurisprudence. I feel truly proud for this achievement of our Constitutional Court, which will serve as another engagement for all Albanian constitutional court judges, who have and share a clear vision for their mission on the European future of our country. I would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm my personal and institutional commitment and responsibility, on behalf of the Constitutional Court of Albania, to effectively fulfill the duty of chairmanship of the Conference of European Constitutional Courts and the Circle of Presidents. In that capacity,I will assure that all the member's concerns and matters of interest are properly and accordingly addressed and that the traditions and legacy of the Conference are upheld and advanced. Address: Blvd. "Döshmoröt e Kombit", no.26, Tirana. www.gik.eov.al I am confident that the XXth Congress of CECC will serve not only as the tribune of European constitutional justice, but as an adequate forum as well, to exchange our experiences not only in terms of upholding and guaranteeing those fundamental and inalienable values and rights that represent the basis of democracy and the rule of law, but also in terms of strengthening the cooperation and intensiffing the dialogue between constitutional courts and judges, to overcome the new challenges faced by society in our historical and geopolitical contexts. I would like to reiterate once again our outmost sincere hope and faith that the Constitutional Court of Albania will succeed and thrive in executing this very important duty it is entrusted with, being confident also on the support and cooperation of all member courts.
