[A képen szöveg, hal látható Automatikusan generált leírás] REGISTRATION FOR PARTICIPATION COMPETITION LAB FOR JUDGES Judicial Contribution to Effective Deterrence and Proportionate Sanctioning Dear Applicants, We are pleased to share the registration details to the upcoming Competition Lab for Judges organised by the OECD-GVH Regional Centre for Competition in Budapest (RCC), which will take place on 19-20 November 2026 in Budapest, Hungary. Kindly note that the workshop will receive funding from the European Commission. The seminar will be chaired by Ms. María Pilar Canedo, Academic Director of the Centre and Senior Competition Expert at the OECD, and Mr. Francisco Marcos, Professor of Law at IE Law School. The upcoming workshop will explore deterrence as a cornerstone of EU competition law. It will cover the economic rationale for deterrence, judicial review of fines and remedies, the role of damages actions, and how courts contribute to ensuring that sanctions are both effective and consistent. Participating judges will be encouraged to engage in Q&A sessions with the experts and to exchange best practices with one another, thereby further strengthening collaboration. In addition, practical exercises on hypothetical cases involving all participants will provide an excellent opportunity to apply the lessons of the seminar in practice.
