[email protected] Request for an Extension of the Deadline for Signing the Subsidy Contract Valka Municipality hereby confirms that we have received the Subsidy Contract for the implementation of the project “Valga-Valka Cross-Border Cooperation Strategy for Sustainable Development”, No. 11.1-4/26/210, signed by your side. According to the terms of the Subsidy Contract, the contract is to be signed by Valka Municipality within one month of its signature by your side. In this regard, we kindly request an extension of the deadline for signing the Subsidy Contract until 1 st of November 2026. The reason for this request is the current financial situation of Valka Municipality Council . In addition, the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Latvia has indicated that, in accordance with the applicable legal requirements, the Municipality is currently not entitled to undertake new financial commitments. At present, discussions are ongoing at the management level between Valka Municipality Council and the Ministry of Finance regarding the Municipality's financial situation and the possibility of undertaking the necessary commitments. Taking into consideration the above circumstances, we kindly ask you to grant an extension of the deadline for signing the Subsidy Contract until 1 st of November 2026, allowing sufficient time to resolve the current financial and legal matters. Should the Subsidy Contract be signed in November 2026, the implementation of the project “Valga-Valka Cross-Border Cooperation Strategy for Sustainable Development” would start no later than 1 st of January 2027. We would like to emphasize that Valka Municipality remains committed to the implementation of the project and to successful cross-border cooperation within the framework of the project. The Subsidy Contract will be signed on behalf of Valka Municipality Council by the Chairman of Valka Municipality Council, Vents Armands Krauklis. We kindly ask you to consider and approve our request to extend the deadline for signing the Subsidy Contract until 1 st of November 2026. Thank you for your understanding and consideration.
