Nomination letter for granting ICPEN Partner Status to
the Georgian National Competition Agency
Dear Sir/Madam,
The Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority of Estonia addresses you with regard to the
application of the Georgian National Competition Agency for the ICPEN Partner status.
Having reviewed submitted application of the Georgian National Competition Agency we can conclude
that the Agency meets the criteria for ICPEN partnership. Georgian National Competition Agency is the
main authority in Georgia responsible for enforcing consumer protection legislation and they have carried
out significant activities to develop the field of consumer protection. Georgia has adopted the necessary
legislation on the protection of consumer rights, as well continues to supplement the national law in order
to achieve a complete legal framework for the protection of consumer rights. Georgian National
Competition Agency is engaged in various initiatives to raise awareness among the consumers as well
business sector.
We are convinced that becoming a partner of ICPEN, Georgia can contribute to the international
cooperation as well to the welfare of consumers worldwide. Being a partner of ICPEN Network Georgian
National Competition Agency can benefit and acquire knowledge for better enforcement of consumer rights
in national level.
With this letter the Estonian Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority expresses its support
for giving to the Georgian National Competition Agency the ICPEN Partner status.
