As for the previous edition, this year the event will take place in the breathtaking location of the Triangolo Lariano (Como lake), with the denomination of: VISCONTEA XXXIX edizione Memorial 1° Cap. Ercole Pirani The 2026 edition will be held on 5th, 6th, 7th of June 2026. The base will be in the Asso sports field. This military sport competition in mountainous environment is aimed to 3 people squads formed by active duty personnel in the Armed Forces as well as to people belonging to Army-Associations, Italian and foreign as well as similar other associations and/or equivalents . This edition includes, weather conditions permitting, a helicopter transfer and is also proposed as the opening race of the season, having slightly more limited difficulty and duration characteristics compared to other similar Italian and European events. The event will take place in the spectacular landscape, framed by the Lake of Como and the Alps, which lend perfectly to the patrol reconnaissance and intervention theme. The competition will range from: daytime patrol in mountainous environment for medium-short-range reconnaissance; intelligence and control of the territory; inter force-communications and coordination activities; possibility of interventions triggered by opportunities. While remaining true to the tradition of the event, now in its 39rd edition, the innovations tested in recent years are confirmed this year too, such as: the evaluation and scoring system according to modern balancing criteria, with evaluation of the “time” trials using the “Z” points ”, and the use of GPS and smartphones during the race course (their use is not permitted during the special tests). No substitutions are allowed once the race has started. If a team should finish the race incomplete, it will be penalized according to the details specified in the General Regulations. A team that remains with only one element is considered immediately withdrawn and excluded from the rankings. EQUIPMENT Each team must be equipped with the following material: military backpack (or civilian but with a military style and color), compass, coordinatometer (different scales), multi-use knife, flashlight or portable lamp, note material (pencil,pens and notes), binoculars, portable first aid kit. Each element of the team must be equipped with the following individual material: water bottle, rain protection garment, camouflage, camouflage cream set. The lack, non-correspondence or inadequacy of one or more of the above materials will be part of the evaluation of the formal aspect at the beginning of the race, which involves a relative scoring. BRACELETS The team leader must wear the numbered bracelet for the entire duration of the competition. The number that officially identifies the team must be clearly visible even at a distance. The loss of the bracelet involves a penalty for the scoring. LANGUAGES The order sheets, test sheets, explanations for each test will be available in Italian and translated into English. In any case, the Italian version is the reference one. No further information requests should be addressed to the organization’s staff at the special test points. WEATHER The competition will take place in any weather condition. The Race Direction will take any relevant decisions to guarantee the necessary safety conditions. COMPLAINTS Any disputes must be presented in writing to the Race Direction at the end of the team competition, with the simultaneous payment of a € 50 deposit, which will be returned within the same day in case of positive assessment by the Race Direction. TRIALS ORGANIZATION The Organizing Committee reserves the right, through the Race Direction, to modify, if necessary, the route, the order and the type of the trials in case of obvious and objective impediments. The members of the team, regardless of their rank, are required to follow the instructions of the organization’s personnel in the Special Testing venues, specifically of the Trial Manager. MEDICAL RESPONSIBILITIES Each competitor is responsible for his / her physical condition, training level and health status. No responsibility will be borne by the organization in relation to these aspects. Each Trial Manager has the right to stop a competitor who appears unable to continue in safety conditions, at least until a more specific assessment made by medical or paramedical personnel, which objectively evaluates the condition of the competitor. ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES The Race Direction and the Organizing Committee decline any responsibility for damages to persons and things that may occur during the course of the competition. EVALUATION OF THE TESTS The Special Tests and the overall time for the race path will compete for the final score. The times will be taken at the arrival of the last member of the team. The overall time of execution of the race course will be obtained by subtracting any dead time that the team is forced to wait once arrived at the place of a Special Stage before starting the test itself. Each Special Stage will be assigned a weight of importance for balancing the overall assessment of the team. Errors during the race such as the failure to pass a test or even the eventual inversion of the order of passage involves a severe penalty or exclusion from the race. The use or possession of non-regulatory equipment , such as specifically: radios, manuals or non-field documentation, and their similar and/or equivalent, will result in a penalty in the judgment of the Race Direction RACE TIME The maximum time for completing the race course is 8 hours from the start of the team, it will be a responsibility of the race organization to ensure that even the last starting team has adequate lighting conditions for the completion of the race. NOVITA’ - Iscrizione per pattuglie Team SoftAir (con verifica condizioni) A titolo sperimentale anche quest’anno è possibile l’iscrizione anche di una aliquota di Team di Softair (massimo 3 squadre), aventi una sufficente formazione e preparazione con le seguenti condizioni: Capo pattuglia ex militare, maggiore età di tutti i componenti della squadra, aspetto formale secondo disposizioni. Le squadre SoftAir i cui componenti non posseggano i requesiti per il tito a fuoco, svolgeranno le prove di tiro con armi ad aria compressa (con compensazione equivalente del punteggio). La quota di iscrizione è di 360 € per squadra e comprende il contributo alle spese organizzative, il materiale topografico e di vario tipo fornito dall’organizzazione per l’effettuazione della gara, un trasferimento in elicottero, se le condizioni meteo lo consentiranno, un oggetto ricordo della manifestazione e la cena di coesione al campo del sabato sera per i componenti delle squadre. Per eventuali accompagnatori e simpatizzanti è previsto un contributo di 15€ per la cena del sabato. Similmente al passato per le squadre di militari in servizio provenienti da reparti italiani, la quota di iscrizione della squadra è limitata a 270 € che comprende anche il pernottamento in palestra. Vi sono numerose possibiltà di alloggio negli alberghi e campeggi della zona, per le prenotazioni occorre provvedere direttamente.
