Subject: Eighteenth session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the
Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions
(11-14 February 2025)
Madam/Sir,
On behalf of the Director-General, I am pleased to invite your government to participate,
as observer, in the eighteenth session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the
Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, which will be
held at UNESCO Headquarters in Room I (Fontenoy Building) from
11 to 14 February 2025. The opening ceremony will take place on
Tuesday, 11 February at 3 p.m. and registration will begin at 2 p.m. Please find enclosed
the provisional agenda for this session.
In addition, several events will take place on the margins of the formal session, including:
• a meeting of National Commissions for UNESCO and National Points of Contact
for the Convention, which will be held on 11 February from 10 to 11 a.m.;
• a working session between the members of the Bureau of the eighteenth session
of the Committee and civil society observers, which will be held on 11 February
from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Further information as well as documents corresponding to items inscribed on the
provisional agenda will be made available in accordance with the statutory deadline (four
weeks before the opening session of the Committee) at the following address:

French, with simultaneous interpretation provided in both languages.
Travel and subsistence expenses of participants will be borne by the government they
