Sir/Madam,
I have the honour to invite representatives from your Government/Organization to the
ICAO “Aviation Green Recovery – Time to build back better” Seminar, to be held as a virtual event, from
23 to 24 November 2020.
The global call to accelerate the shift towards climate-driven action has become
increasingly louder, and since the beginning of COVID-19 pandemic, significant focus has been how the
global community can build back better, and the aspirations for a green aviation recovery have grown.
While the aviation industry has been especially affected by the COVID-19 crisis, this period represents a
unique opportunity to trigger a deep decarbonisation of aviation.
This Seminar offers a comprehensive approach to the potential opportunities for aviation
to take concrete measures to address environmental issues, as it seeks to “build back better”. It will
highlight the ongoing work by ICAO and the aviation community toward a green recovery, showcasing
the concrete measures in place to promote an environmentally sustainable future, and will provide a
forum for discussion on how the green aviation future can be shaped.
The preliminary programme for the event is provided in Attachment A and further
updates to the programme will be made at: https://www.icao.int/Meetings/GreenRecoverySeminar.
Additional information on the event will also be made available at this link. You are kindly requested to
nominate participants from your Government/Organization to the event on official letterhead and to

J’ai l’honneur d’inviter des représentants de votre administration ou organisation au Séminaire OACI
« La relance verte de l’aviation — Reconstruire en mieux », qui prendra la forme d’une réunion virtuelle, les 23 et
24 novembre 2020.
L’appel mondial en faveur d’une transition accélérée à des mesures axées sur le climat se fait de plus
en plus pressant ; depuis le début de la pandémie de COVID-19, tous les efforts se concentrent sur la manière dont la
communauté mondiale peut reconstruire en mieux et les aspirations à une relance verte de l’aviation se multiplient. Alors
que l’industrie aéronautique a été particulièrement touchée par la crise de la COVID-19, cette période constitue une occasion
unique d’amorcer une décarbonation profonde de l’aviation.
Le Séminaire propose d’envisager de manière globale les possibilités qui s’offrent à l’aviation de prendre
des mesures concrètes en vue de s’attaquer aux questions environnementales, alors que le secteur chercher à « reconstruire
en mieux ». Il fera ressortir les travaux continus de l’OACI et de la communauté aéronautique en faveur d’une relance verte,
mettra en valeur les mesures concrètes mises en place pour promouvoir un avenir durable sur le plan environnemental, et
favorisera la discussion sur les modalités d’un avenir de l’aviation respectueux de l’environnement.

Я имею честь пригласить представителей вашего правительства/организации принять участие в
семинаре ИКАО "Экологическое восстановление авиации – время для более качественного восстановления",
который состоится в качестве виртуального мероприятия с 23 по 24 ноября 2020 года.
Глобальный призыв как можно скорее приступить к действиям, связанным с изменением климата,
звучит все громче, и с момента начала пандемии COVID-19 значительное внимание уделяется тому, каким
образом мировое сообщество может обеспечить более качественное восстановление, а также возросли
надежды на экологическое восстановление авиации. Авиационная отрасль особенно пострадала от кризиса,
вызванного COVID-19, однако этот период предоставил уникальную возможность приступить к глубокой
декарбонизации авиации.
Семинар предусматривает комплексный подход к потенциальным возможностям для принятия
конкретных мер в области авиации для решения экологических проблем, поскольку он направлен на "более
качественное восстановление". На нем будет освещена текущая работа ИКАО и авиационного сообщества,
проводимая в направлении обеспечения экологического восстановления, продемонстрированы конкретные
меры, принимаемые для содействия экологически устойчивому будущему, а также состоится обсуждение
вопроса о том, каким образом можно сформировать будущее экологически чистой авиации.

Tengo el honor de invitar a representantes de su Gobierno/organización al “Seminario
sobre la recuperación verde de la aviación – Es hora de reconstruir mejor”, que la OACI celebrará como
evento virtual los días 23 y 24 de noviembre de 2020.
El llamamiento mundial para acelerar la transición a la acción por el clima se deja oír
cada vez más fuerte y, desde el principio de la pandemia de COVID-19, un objetivo importante ha sido el
de encontrar la forma en que la comunidad mundial pueda reconstruir mejor y las aspiraciones de lograr
una recuperación verde de la aviación han ido en aumento. Si bien la industria de la aviación se ha visto
especialmente afectada por la crisis causada por la COVID-19, este período representa una oportunidad
única para realizar una profunda descarbonización del sector.
Este seminario brinda un enfoque integral de las posibles oportunidades que se presentan
en el ámbito de la aviación para tomar medidas concretas con el fin de abordar los problemas
medioambientales en el afán de “reconstruir mejor”. Se pondrá de relieve la labor que están realizando
la OACI y la comunidad de la aviación en pos de una recuperación verde y se presentarán las medidas
concretas que se han establecido para promover un futuro sostenible desde el punto de vista
medioambiental; además, el seminario constituirá un foro para debatir sobre cómo puede forjarse el futuro
de la aviación verde.
