Dear Ms Ioseliani
Thank you for your letter. Following the suggestion made in the letter, we have familiarized
ourselves with the website of the Georgian Maritime Transport Agency (www.mta.gov.ge). To
familiarize ourselves with Georgian legislation, can the Georgian side help us find legislation
related to seafarers’ certification requirements? The legislation on the website does not address the
issues of seafarers’ certification requirements, and there are no references to find what we need.
There is also a question of lists of recognized curricula of training courses annexed to the
recognized MET-s, but without reference to any of the relevant provisions of the STCW to which
they correspond. We would be grateful if you could give us any relevant references.
Regarding the sea-going service of cadets on Tallink ships, there are no obstacles for Georgian
cadets to find sea-going service on Tallink ships, as AS Tallink Grupp has its own Training Centre
and the cadets should pass training for passenger ships as well as safety training and thereby obtain
an Estonian certificate. We apologize for the delay, but we very much look forward to our future
cooperation.
