PROTOCOL NOTE Meeting nr 9 Steering Committee 30.1.2020 Page 1 / 1 5.7 FiberAct, ID: 921 PROPOSAL: To reject the application of project FiberAct in Priority 2, SO 2.4 as it does not meet the following assessment criterion: Project’s contribution to programme’s objectives, expected results and outputs: The project would focus on the process of assessing the environmental load, recommending appropriate measures and compiling an action plan to tackle the issue. It is stated that to remediate even one site would not be possible within the time frame or budget of an Interreg project. Indicated project results would be applicable to the whole Baltic Sea as such. Ex-situ remediation tests of contaminated fibersediment from six different sites would be carried out, but no in-situ reductions would be achieved. The project would create preconditions for remediation but contribution to the result indicator would not take place during the project. Thus, there would be no contribution to the SO indicators as would be expected by the programme.
