The Neukom Center for the Rule of Law at Stanford Law School would like to invite you
to participate in our annual conference at Stanford in September on Rule of Law and
Democracy: Judicial Transitions, Administration, and Innovation.
The conference will be held September 25 and 26, 2026 and will kick off with a
welcome dinner on September 24, 2026 for all participants. September 25th, will focus
on judicial transitions in jurisdictions transforming from authoritarianism into more
democratic governance. September 26th will feature presentations by scholars and judges
on judicial administration, innovation, and innovation in administration to sustain the rule
of law.
Your reasonable travel and accommodation expenses will be covered according to
Stanford University travel policy which will be emailed under separate cover. We hope
that you will join us.

our annual conference Rule of Law and Democracy: Judicial Transitions,
Administration, and Innovation. The conference will be held at Stanford on
September 25 and 26, 2026 with a welcome dinner on September 24.
We would like to invite the minister to speak on the following panel:
AI in Courts - Global Promise, Universal Perils
Key Questions:

Should AI ever be used in judicial decision-making? Where are the
boundaries?

What do the data show us about how AI / algorithms impact judicial decision
making?
*
How do different legal systems approach AI regulation in courts?
*
Can we develop universal principles for AI in justice systems?
*
What are the key concerns?
Estonia's leadership in bringing AI into judicial decisionmaking will be
highly informative for the conference.
The conference is closed door and the audience will be judges and other
academics, as well a some Stanford students. A formal invitation is
attached. Stanford will pay reasonable travel and accommodation expenses.
