Tel.:+995 422 27 49 25/26 № 10/453 2020 / 02 /27 To: Mr. Rene Arikas Director General Estonian Maritime Administration Dear Mr. Arikas, Let me use this opportunity to express my respect toward the Estonian Maritime Administration and you personally. I would like to thank for our high-level bilateral meeting, which was held within the 31st Assembly of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). I believe that deepening cooperation between our maritime administrations is of huge importance and I would like to kindly propose you some follow-up actions following the Georgia-Estonia bilateral meeting. Considering that the seafarers’ training, education and certification system constitutes one of the backbones of our agency’ work and of the Georgian maritime field as whole, we are much impelled to keep and meet the highest standards in this field. Georgia has currently a huge pool of experience and professional seafarers’ serving all over the world. Taking this opportunity, I would like to kindly invite you to consider the possibility for our administrations to conclude a Memorandum of Understanding on the mutual recognition of certificates pursuant to regulation I/10 of the STCW Convention. Concerning recognition of Georgian issued Certificates of Competency, please be informed, that European Commission recognizes Georgian CoCs and it has done so since 2013. We have concluded STCW I/10 MoUs with most of the European flag States and with most of the flag State around the globe. We try very hard to make our Seafarers Education and Certification System compliant with most recent standards. Considering the abovementioned, I am looking forward your kind consideration of our request. Yours sincerely, Director Tamar Ioseliani file:///tmp/tomcat8-tomcat8-tmp/ffcd2628-0311-48c2-90b6-4bb3fcb7dce7.html 1/1
