The Young Professionals Commission (YP-Com) of PIANC has a vacancy for a YP Observer to the
International Co-Operation Commission (CoCom). For more information on CoCom, please visit:

The appointment term for this role will be four years, with potential for reappointment for a maximum of two
additional terms of four years. In the event that multiple candidates are suited for the role, YP-Com may
appoint two YP Observers (one Primary Observer and one Alternate Observer).
The tasks of a YP Observer to other PIANC Commissions are as follows:
• Attend Commission meetings/activities as a YP member.
• Attend YP-Com Meetings on a regular basis (in person, at least one per year).
• Disseminate Commission updates and meeting minutes to YP-Com (via Board through e-mail and
using SharePoint) and provide an update on the Commission at YP-Com Meetings.
• Actively involve YPs in Commission and promote participation.
• Bring up discussion points in YP-Com Meetings and provide feedback and ideas to Commission on
behalf of YP-Com.
• Assist Commission Chairperson in accomplishing Commission Tasks.
• Track YP involvement in Commission and associated tasks.
• Attend one YP-Com Board Meeting each year (online/teleconference) to collaborate with the
Board on the needs of the commission from YP-Com
• In the event that two YP Observers are appointed to a commission, the responsibilities will be spread
between the Primary Observer and the Alternate Observer.

The Young Professionals Commission (YP-Com) of PIANC has a vacancy for an Alternate YP Observer to the
Recreational Navigation Commission (ReCom), one of PIANC’s four technical commissions. For more

For PIANC Technical Commissions, YP-Com may appoint two YP Observers, including one Primary Observer
and one Alternate Observer. The current YP Observer to ReCom, Mr Francesco Ligorio (Italy), will continue
his role; thus, this role will be intended to support Mr Ligorio in collaboration between YP-Com and ReCom.
The appointment term for this role will be four years, with potential for reappointment for a maximum of two
additional terms of four years. The tasks of a YP Observer to PIANC Technical Commissions are as follows:
• Attend Commission meetings/activities as a YP member.
• Attend YP-Com Meetings on a regular basis (in person, at least one per year).
• Disseminate Commission updates and meeting minutes to YP-Com (via Board through e-mail and
using SharePoint) and provide an update on the Commission at YP-Com Meetings.
• Actively update a template for the Commission on behalf of YP-Com (see attached example).
• Actively involve YPs in (Technical) Commissions and promote participation.
• Bring up discussion points in YP-Com Meetings and feedback in Technical Commission (e.g. ideas for
ToR).
• Track YP involvement in Commission and Working Groups.
• Call for YP Working Group Members (including and especially for YPs in countries without an
established National Section), in collaboration with YP-Com Chair.
• Attend one YP-Com Board Meeting each year (online/teleconference) to collaborate with the
Board on the needs of the commission from YP-Com
• In the event that two YP Observers are appointed to a commission, the responsibilities will be spread
between the Primary Observer and the Alternate Observer.
