Teema: FW: Product Safety Pledge
Lp Toote turujärelevalve nõukogu liikmed,
Edastan Euroopa Komisjonilt saadetud info seoses internetipõhiste kauplemiskohtade
kokkuleppega (Product Safety Pledge). Mis asi on Product Safety Pledge? Vt lisainfot siit ->
https://europa.eu/rapid/press-release_IP-18-4247_et.htm
Seoses alloleva kirjaga soovitan soojalt tutvuda mainitud ettevõtmise I kokkuvõttega (ei ole väga
pikk) -> first progress report on the implementation of the Product Safety Pledge
Teiseks lisan manusesse info, mis mõeldud järelevalveasutustele igapäevaseks kasutamiseks –
spetsiaalsed kontaktaadressid ettevõtetes turujärelevalveasutustele kasutamiseks (Alibaba’lt,
Amzon’lt, E-bay’lt etc). Juurde ka juhend, kuidas nende kontaktidaga ümber käia:
„In order to facilitate the swiftest possible action by the marketplaces, please pay
particular attention to the following:
1) When writing to the contact points, always take into consideration the
language indications and the specific guidance provided by the companies and
respect data protection rules.
2) The contact details may be shared only amongst market surveillance
authorities. They should by no means be made public as this would defeat the
purpose of contact channels reserved to enforcement authorities for rapid follow-
up and jeopardise their effectiveness.“
Parimat,
Risto Jõgi

Subject: Product Safety Pledge
Dear IMP-MSG members,
As you may know, several online marketplaces - Alibaba (for AliExpress), Amazon,
eBay and Rakuten France - signed last year a Product Safety Pledge facilitated by the
European Commission (DG Justice and Consumers). They committed to take a
number of voluntary measures for the quick removal of dangerous products sold by
third-party sellers on their websites.
Amongst these commitments, the signatories agreed to provide specific “single
contact points” for EU Member States’ authorities to send requests for the removal
of unsafe products. These dedicated channels are meant to facilitate communication
on product safety issues with the marketplaces. The above companies have
established such a contact point, in the form of an email address specifically
dedicated to the market surveillance authorities. Cdiscount, which joined the pledge
in July 2019, has followed suit. Wish.com has not formally signed up, yet has also
provided an e-mail address.
This information has been shared through the Consumer Safety Network (CSN) but
we understand that it may not have reached all MSAs in the Member States.
Consequently, in agreement with our colleagues in DG JUST and with the CSN
members, we are making these contact points available on the Market Surveillance
Group Wiki:
https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/fpfis/wikis/display/IMG/Product+Safety+Pledge+by
+online+marketplaces
The Pledge is focused on product safety aspects relating to consumer products. MSAs
may therefore use the contact points for specific communication regarding unsafe
products offered on the respective e-commerce websites. Some signatories (Alibaba,
Amazon) have provided additional contacts for other communications, such as the
notification of broader non-compliance issues – see Wiki page for details.
In order to facilitate the swiftest possible action by the marketplaces, please pay
particular attention to the following:
1) When writing to the contact points, always take into consideration the
language indications and the specific guidance provided by the companies and
respect data protection rules.
2) The contact details may be shared only amongst market surveillance
authorities. They should by no means be made public as this would defeat the
purpose of contact channels reserved to enforcement authorities for rapid
follow-up and jeopardise their effectiveness.
We also take this opportunity to inform you that the first progress report on the
implementation of the Product Safety Pledge was published on 30 July.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to let us know.
Best regards,
GROW/B1
Product Safety Pledge by online marketplaces
In June 2018, several online market places - Alibaba (for AliExpress), Amazon, eBay and Rakuten France - signed a Product Safety

The pledge is focused on product safety aspects relating to consumer products. MSAs may therefore use the contact points for specific
communication regarding unsafe products offered on the respective e-commerce websites. Some signatories (Alibaba, Amazon) have
