Subject: RE: 90254 gaasiballoonide sertifikaat
Mr. Ingmar Pill,
In response to your request:
According to the IGF Code (2015), Part A‑1, Section 5.5.2, all fuel piping within machinery space boundaries shall be enclosed in a gastight enclosure in accordance with Regulation 9.6.
Regulation 9.6.1 stipulates that fuel piping shall be arranged as a double pipe or installed within a duct. In the present arrangement, metallic gastight hoods are installed above the main engines.
Outside these hoods, double-wall fuel pipes are used, while within the hoods the piping is of single-wall construction.
According to the shipbuilder, Baltic Workboats AS (BWB AS), the gastight hood arrangement provides a level of safety equivalent to that required by Regulation 9.6.1.3.
This arrangement has been accepted by the Estonian Transport Administration.
In addition, following requirements are considered to be fulfilled:
* IGF Code Section 5.2.1.6, which requires that the probability of a gas explosion in machinery spaces containing gas or low-flashpoint fuel systems be minimized; and
* IGF Code Section 6.2.2, which requires that the pressure and temperature in the fuel tank be maintained within the design limits of the containment system and any applicable fuel carriage requirements.
Lugupidamisega/Best regards

Tere Margus,
Nagu jaanuaris toimunud koosolekul arutatud, siis vajame LR jaoks kinnituskirja, mis nende poolt esitatud kommentaarid ära kataks:
1. For single walled gas pipes inside a gas safe machinery space, the agreement of the Flag Administration is to be obtained. (IGF Code, Part A-1, 5.2.1.6, 5.5.2, 6.2.2, 9.6.1)
2. Cylinders are to be approved by the Flag Administration according to IGF Code, Part A-1, 6.6.1 and 7.4.1.3, including material and omission of pressure relief valves required by 6.6.2.
3. Flag Acceptance is to be obtained for storage of CNG in enclosed spaces (inside contianer), acc. to IGF Code, Part A-1, 6.6.4.
Tervitades/Best Regards
