Dear Hydrographer,
In accordance with the Reference Circular Letter, the International Hydrographic
Organization (IHO) will organize a Symposium on “A Historical Approach for Measurements
and Protection of Oceans and World Waters” at the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco on
20 and 21 June 2019 under the activities of the IHO centenary celebrations. The Symposium
will jointly be organized by Piri Reis Maritime University, Istanbul, Turkey and will be
supported by the Government of Monaco and the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco.
Draft Programme of the Symposium is attached for your information.
In conjunction with the Symposium, World Hydrography Day (WHD) 2019 Celebration will
also be held at the evening of 20 June 2019 at the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco.
The IHO Secretariat is pleased to invite the representatives of the Member States to attend
the IHO Monaco Symposium and WHD 2019 reception. The individual invitation letters will
be provided by the Secretariat, if required.
