CALL FOR COMMENTS ON THE PROPOSALS TO BE CONSIDERED
AT THE 3rd MEETING OF THE IHO COUNCIL AND PRELIMINARY ORGANIZATIONAL

Dear Hydrographer,
1. As announced in Reference A, the 3rd meeting of the IHO Council (C-3) will be held at
the IHO Secretariat in Monaco from Tuesday 15 to Thursday 17 October 2019. It is also
reminded that, in accordance with Reference B, the deadline for submitting proposals is 15 July
2019. All documents received after the deadline will be considered as information papers only.
2. In accordance with Reference C, proposals and supporting documents from the Member
States, the Secretary-General, and reports from the subsidiary organs are being uploaded on
the C-3 webpage (www.iho.int >….> Council > C-3 > Documents), as soon as they are received.
3. In order for the IHO Secretariat to prepare the C-3 Red Book and make it available on
the C-3 webpage at least two months before the opening day of the meeting of the Council (in
accordance with Reference B), Member States are invited to monitor the updates made on the
list of proposals on the C-3 webpage on a regular basis and to forward any comments that
they may have, so they reach the IHO Secretariat (by e-mail:
[email protected], Word version in
arial font preferable or converted .pdf file) no later than 6 August 2019 (“…ten weeks before
the opening…”, in accordance with Reference C, paragraph 1).
4. The IHO Secretariat would like to take this opportunity to remind IHO Member States
to register their intended participation in the meeting via the IHO website as indicated in
Reference A (www.iho.int >….> Council > C-3 > Registration) and to make their own
accommodation arrangements as early as possible.
5. To facilitate the preparation of the organization of C-3 and based on the experience
from C-1 and C-2, Member States having a seat at the Council are also invited to nominate
rapporteurs by email to:
[email protected], by 15 August 2019, instructions for rapporteurs
available on request. Rapporteurs can be registered as part of their delegation in addition to
the official representative. For planning purposes, it should be noted that the rapporteur in
