CUP OF COLONEL DAINIS TURLAIS FIRST COMMANDER OF THE DEFENSE FORCES OF THE REPUBLIC OF LATVIA REGULATION The purpose of the competition Popularize the cadet force movement in Latvia, identify the best cadets within 3 rd department of Cadet Force Centre of the Republic of Latvia and foreign teams in shooting sport and military patrol with tasks. Organizers 3rd department of Cadet Force Centre of the Republic of Latvia with support of, Strenči elementary school. Contact person: Liene Rozenberga, 0037127113023, e-mail: [email protected] Time and place of the event The competition will take place on April 24.-26.2026 at Strenču elementary school (Rīgas iela 13, Strenci, Valmiera district), Strenči and Trikata area. Registration of participants on 24.04.2026. from 18:00 till 21:00. Meeting of judges and team representatives at 21:30 Opening parade at Trikāta town open air stage 25.04.2026. at 9:00 The competition starts 25.04.2026 at 10:00. Awarding and closing parade (indicatively) at 16:00 on 26.04.2026 Registration of participants Previous teams applications until February 28, 2026. Applications with names must be submitted by April 20, 2026 at 23:59 to e-mail [email protected]. On the day of the competition, each team hands in the list of team members (application form is attached), parental permissions and copy of doctor’s certificate, to the organizers. Participants Each team of the cadets and foreign organization unit, should consists of 4 persons under 18 years old, including at least one girl. Participants are prohibited from competing in several teams at the same time. Each competitor and team representative is responsible for compliance with the participants safety rules and the ability to handle a weapon, as evidenced by a signature in the competition application and the safety rules journal. Equipment Participants must have a change of clothes and shoes. All weapons and equipment for competition will be provided. Participants start the competition in uniform. Competition disciplines: Stationary shooting. Shooting duels. Patrol with tasks. Determining the winner Teams are judged in each discipline. For the 1st place in the discipline, 1 point, for the 2nd place - 2 points, etc. In the overall ranking, the points obtained in stationary shooting, dueling shooting, obstacle course and additional disciplines are added up (the place is determined by adding up the places in each discipline). The team with the lowest total score wins. If several teams have the same number of points, the higher place is awarded to the team that won the higher place in the patrol with tasks. Awarding Three best teams in each discipline are awarded with medals. The team that won the first place in the discipline is awarded with the "Small Cup". The winning team of the competition is awarded the "Big Cup" in the overall standings. Protests The judges accept written protests from the team representative no later than 15 minutes after all teams have finished the start in the corresponding discipline. No charges for participation in the competition. First aid point will be open during the competition. Air Rifles The use of optical sights is prohibited. Ammunition and weapons are provided by the organizers. Discipline takes place outdoors. Distance - 10 meters. Firing Position – Kneeling unsupported position. Target No.15 - diameter 12 cm. Each team provide 2 shooters. 4 shooters from 2 teams shoots at the same time. Referee commands for stationary shooting: 1. TO THE LINE OF FIRE; 2. LOAD; 3. FIRE; 4. STOP; 5. UNLOAD, WEAPONS FOR INSPECTION. If a shot is fired after the STOP command, the competitor's single best hit is void. Course of discipline: The use of protective glasses is MANDATORY (provided by the organizers). Zeroing: 3 shots. Changing goals. Competition: 10 shots (target No. 15). The total number of points scored in the team competition and the individual result of each team member are recorded. The team that wins the stationary shooting discipline gets 1 point, the second-place winner gets 2 points, the third-place winner gets 3 points, etc. After five shots, a team member may request a change of target. DUEL SHOOTING. Air Rifles The use of optical sights is prohibited. Ammunition is provided by the organizers. Discipline takes place outdoors. Two teams start at the same time. Targets – inflated balloons. Shooting distance – 10 meters. Each participant places a weapon on the FIRE line. There are two balloons for each team on the TARGET line. Participants go to the START line, take the starting position PRONE, the girls start position STANDING. After the command "LOAD", the members of both teams "run" to the FIRE line, independently load the weapon and start shooting at their targets (5 balls (pellets) for each team member). The team that has shot its targets faster wins. The winning team gets 1 point. If neither team hits both targets, both teams lose and receive no points. The teams are divided into two subgroups with the help of a draw. In each subgroup, teams compete against each other. 2 teams from each subgroup qualified for the finals. In the final, all teams fight against each other. STATIONARY SHOOTING AND DUEL SHOOTING DISCIPLINES TAKE PLACE SIMULTANEOUSLY. ORIENTATION MAZE The team performs an orientation maze in the form of a relay race. Map, SI system is used. Check points must be attended in the order of the order. Evaluation - time. If one of the team members misses a KP, the team is ranked behind the teams that have found all the KPs. PATROL WITH TASKS: The teams cover a distance of 7-10 km within Strenči city and city surroundings, where they perform various tasks - knowledge test; disassembling and assembling weapons; throwing hand grenades at the target; orientation maze (relay race); distance determination. Task completion check points are located in different locations. They are marked on the map and must be visited in order of command. When the team arrives at the relevant task execution point, it marks itself in the SI system, completes the task and moves on. The time spent on the distance is also evaluated. Descriptions of patrol disciplines: Obstacle Course. The team runs a distance marked on the terrain. Obstacles – overcoming a hilly terrain, transporting the injured with a stretcher, overcoming an obstacle with horizontal ropes (parallel at a height of 1m), overcoming a water obstacle with boats and team exercises. Evaluation - the time spent in the distance. Knowledge test The team receives 10-16 questions. 5-8 of them are about Europe (history, nature, geography), 5-8 questions are about NATO, (ranks of service). Evaluation - correct answers, time spent. If the number of correct answers is the same, the time is evaluated. Max. time 10 min. Determination of distances. The distance to 5 objects in nature must be determined. Binoculars must not be used. Scoring: The team that most accurately determines the distance to the object wins. For a mistake - penalty points for every 5m one point. If the error is below 5m, we round down. Ex.- 24m= 20m error. If the number of penalty points is the same, the time is judged. Throwing a hand grenade (dummy) a target. 3 horizontal targets placed at different distances. Each participant makes 3 shots, each shot at a different target. After the throws, the participant runs for the grenades and brings them to the starting position. The team with the most hits wins. Disassembling and assembling weapons. The team disassembles a Crossman AirGun. After that, the assault rifle must be assembled. The details of the weapon should be named better. Evaluation - time. *Distance tasks may be replaced with others. Possible additional tasks on the track: -Searching for objects (observation of the area); -Knotting/rope obstacle (move/log or similar); -High speed section; - Communication task; -Team building/ingenuity task; -water obstacle crossing by boat.
