In respect to your enquiry concerning amendments to the IBC code and early implementation of carriage requirements of Urea/Ammonium nitrate solution, we would like to inform you that Estonia will form the final position on the abovementioned item only after the amendments are adopted in the MEPC 74 and MSC 101. The amendments will enter into force 1 October 2020. Norway would like to apply the update carriage requirements before they are formally adopted. We have already agreements to apply the updated carriage requirements with several countries such as the USA, China, Brazil, France, United Kingdom and others. As a possible port State for Norwegian ships carrying UAN, we would like to ask for the concurrence regarding this matter from Estonia.
