Terms of Reference and Rules of Procedures of the IHO-IAG Advisory Board on the Law of the Sea (ABLOS) Dear Hydrographer, 1. Under the provisions of Reference A and in accordance with the IHO Work Programme for 2019 approved by the IHO Member States, the 10th biennial conference organized by the IHO-IAG Advisory Board on the Law of the Sea (ABLOS) will be held in Monaco from 8 to 9 October 2019. The theme for the 10th ABLOS Conference is: “Opportunities and Challenges in the Governance of the Planet Ocean” 2. The 10th ABLOS Conference will be held in the venue of earlier editions at the IHO Secretariat in Monaco. This venue will accommodate no more than 90 delegates; therefore places will be allocated in order of receipt of registration forms. Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis, subject to full payment of the registration fees. 3. Information regarding the 10th ABLOS Conference is available on the IHO web site www.iho.int > Committees and WGs > ABLOS > 10th Conference or via the direct link: https://www.iho.int/mtg_docs/com_wg/ABLOS/ABLOS_Conf10/ABLOS_Conf10.htm This web page will be updated as more information becomes available. 4. Registrations should be made using the attached form in Annex A or downloaded from the ABLOS page of the IHO website. The cost of registration is 300 Euros. Registration fees cover a copy of the Proceedings in digital format, morning and afternoon refreshments, lunches and an official evening reception. The registration fee may be waived for full-time first degree students who are accepted to deliver presentations. 5. The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is hosting an ABLOS Conference website at http://www.ablosconference.com/ where abstracts, presentations and papers can be uploaded. The site also provides details of the management of the Conference session topics and session programme. 6. As in previous ABLOS Conferences, all presentations will be in English with no interpreting provided. Presentations will only be considered for inclusion in the programme upon receipt of a supporting abstract. All abstracts should be submitted to the organizing committee for consideration via the ABLOS Conference website no later than 15 May 2019. Hydrographic information driving marine knowledge 7. On behalf of the ABLOS, the IHO Secretariat requests Member States to circulate the invitation to attend the Conference both within their organization and among other relevant national authorities and educational institutions.
