Due to that we are unfortunately already in extreme hurry. The S4V Project is the I called you about in December. We are planning to invite you to Helsinki to hear more about the project and to hopefully come to visit you in Tallinn. Some of the companies participating the project like Rolls Royce would like to meet you. But before any face to face discussions, could you give a Letter of Support to the S4V? We do think it would be important for the funding organisation Business Finland. Unfortunately we would need the LoS already by morning of Monday the 14th. Best, sanna Letter of Support for the program ”Sea4Value – Value creation via smart and autonomous maritime transport” that is part of road map of One Sea. One Sea is a high-profile ecosystem, with primary aim to lead the way towards an operating autonomous maritime ecosystem by 2025. The project “Sea4Value” is applying funding from Business Finland , the Finnish innovation fund, for enabling faster, more efficient and increasingly sustainable maritime supply chain. The program mission is to develop and provi de blueprints towards digitalisation , service innovation and information flows in maritime transport . Longer term mission is preparing for advanced autonomous operations and navigation. The ” Sea4Value” program spans over three interconnected application domains within the maritime supply chain. Smart Harbour is where the operations and logistics connect maritime transport to other modes of transportation. Smart fairway navigation ensures a channel by which the existing vessels and future autonomous ships use to travel safely in the transfer of goods Smart shipping comprising electronic corridors and interconnection with fairways and harbours are the building blocks of safe, efficient and sustainable shipping in the future Sea4Value is a transformative program that aims for wide societal influence by providing concrete research-based recommendations on regulation, business, data usage & sharing and for standardization. In particular, the program targets on following demonstrations and experiments, which are important milestones on the journey towards smart and autonomous maritime transport system. Smart harbour experiment on i mproved visibility of cargo information suitable for small and medium sized harbours Smart fairway navigation experiments ePilotage working environment (on shore) and remote pilotage experiments Defining and experimenting an electronic corridor between Tallinn and Helsinki Estonian Maritime Administration confirms its interest in and support for the “Sea4Value” program and will closely follow the progress and results of the project. In our opinion, the project enables creating safer and more efficient maritime transport. As a Letter of Support, this letter is not enforceable, and any details shall be agreed through a formal Agreement. Rene Arikas Director General Tallinn, 14.01.2019
