In addition, some tasks such as “monitoring e- Navigation testbeds” will not be carried out by a Working Group but by the Committee and some new tasks such as “Study of new Emerging Digital Technology” are added. Consequently, the Committee of this Working Period consists of the following three Working Groups. Digital Information System Working Group (WG 1) All maritime services should be provided to ships and other stakeholders aboard and ashore as digital information in harmonized way of e-Navigation such as common maritime data structure, maritime service (portfolios), maritime resource name and others. The harmonization of e- navigation had been carried out by the Harmonization Technical Working Group and the ENAV Services Technical Working Group of the previous e-Navigation Committee. The Digital Information System Working Group is aimed to continue the harmonization of e-Navigation and develop the digital information system for e-Navigation and other purposes. Digital Communication System Working Group (WG 2)  The use of digital communication is still low on the sea due to various limitations such as range, speed, cost and the development of fare and reasonable maritime digital communication system is expected. The Telecommunication Technical Working Group of the previous e-Navigation Committee had significantly contributed to the development of maritime digital communication system such as VDES and still continues its work. The Digital Communication System Working Group takes over the work of the Telecommunication Technical Working Group and continues the development of maritime digital communication system. Emerging Digital Technology Working Group (WG 3) The development of digital technology is rapid and its effect reaches to the entire maritime service including aids to navigation and VTS. It is therefore essential to study emerging digital technology such as Telematics, Maritime Autonomous Surface Ship (MASS), LTE-M and identify its advantage, limitation and application to e-Navigation and other maritime developments in future. The Emerging Digital Technology Working Group has newly established for this purpose and contributes to the future development of IALA. Dear IALA Member, The IALA Secretariat has the pleasure of inviting you to the 46th session of the IALA Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) Committee meeting which will be held from February 25 to March 1, 2019 at the Westin Chosun Busan hotel, Busan, Republic of Korea. Plenary meeting commences on Monday 25 February at 13:00. A pre-meeting of the VTS Committee Chair, Vice-Chair and Working Group Chairs will take place at 09:00 on Monday 25. Documents VTS46: A provisional agenda and the provisional programme of the week has been posted to the IALA website under Meetings Docs\Meetings\VTS46. Input papers and other meeting documents are also on the VTS46 section. Please monitor the website periodically to find new input papers as indicated by the date. Login and password are required to access meeting documents. Submissions of Input papers VTS46: The deadline for submission of input papers is: February 8, 2019, send to the committee secretary [email protected] and make the subject “VTS46”. Please note: IN ORDER TO GIVE COMMITTEE MEMBERS ADEQUATE TIME TO CONSIDER INPUT PAPERS, ANY PAPER SUBMITTED AFTER THE DUE DATE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AND WILL BE INPUT TO THE FOLLOWING MEETING. Input paper template available from the website in VTS46 must be used to all documents otherwise your paper will be returned. Registration: Registration online to attend VTS46 is compulsory for every participant. On-line registration is available from the IALA website: www.iala-aism.org , and must be completed to ensure appropriate arrangements. Name badges will be distributed upon arrival and must be worn at all times in the premises.
