I have your contacts from EMSA Administrative board and I hope you could share your experience on some questions regarding personal and recreational ships. So, these are the questions: 1) Registration of personal “self-made” or crafted ships: a. What is the procedure of evaluating and registering such ships if more than 5 years has passed after their manufacture? b. How do you identify the ship if there is no number on the hull? How do you give the number in such case? c. How do you identify their technical parameters? d. What kind of drawings (sketches) do you require from the owners of the ships? 2) Old recreational ships: a. How do you identify old recreational ships to which directives 94/25/EC and 2013/53/EC were not applicable? b. What kind of documentation was used for such ships in your country (before directives 94/25/EC and 2013/53/EC). E.g. technical passports, certificates, models according to the manufacturers books, etc.? c. How do you evaluate such ships if the documentation is missing, there is no identification number on the hull, no manufacturer plate (or it’s missing the basic information on it), it is impossible to identify the model of the ship or the manufacturer of the ship? 3) Substantial alteration of the ship or the engine: a. How do you identify (what are the criteria, the scale) of the substantial alteration of the ship? b. How do you identify (what are the criteria) of the substantial alteration of the engine? i. Do you consider a substantial alteration of the engine if instead of the stationary engine the machine engine is placed? ii. Do you consider a substantial alteration of the engine if instead of the stationary engine the hanging engine is placed? 4) Number on the hull. In what cases it is allowed not to have the number on the hull? (if any) I appreciate your time, thank you very much!
