Metsäkustannus Oy has purchased the consumer business activities of Karttakeskus from CGI Finland Oy, including publishing, map and location information businesses. The Karttakeskus brand will be transferred to the new owner. The annual turnover of the acquired entity is approximately EUR 2.2 million. The business activities will be merged into Tapio Group's media business 1 st July 2018. Karttakeskus publishes maps, books and digital applications for consumer markets, as well as various educational materials. It also produces location data sets for business customers and activities. Karttakeskus’s b-to-b location data services will remain at CGI. Some of the best known product brands of Karttakeskus are Loisto navigation applications, Paraskartta map service, GT road maps and Driver´s road maps. Other product lines are outdoor maps, hiking guides and related non-fiction books. “The products of Karttakeskus have a very strong market position, and the Karttakeskus brand is exceptionally well-known and trusted by consumers.
