Teema: RE: Automotive Radar - licence for test, demonstration, experimental use
Dear Mr. Berinde
Thank you for your enquiry!
Can I understand correctly that your sensors are made according to commission implementing decision (EU)
2019/1345?
Power levels seem to correspond to the decision, but do your sensors also confirm to the clause “Techniques to
access spectrum and mitigate interference that provide an appropriate level of performance to comply with the
essential requirements of Directive 2014/53/EU shall be used.”?
In case these requirements are met you can operate the sensors without applying for frequency permit.
If the requirements cannot be met I would need a bit more information to check if permit can be granted.
Do I understand correctly that you plan to test only 2 sensors?
When and where do you plan to test these sensors?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
With Best Regards,
Andres Teeäär

Subject: Automotive Radar - licence for test, demonstration, experimental use
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
our company is an international automotive supplier and – among others – manufacturing automotive radar
sensors.
We now have developed two new automotive radar sensors with the following characteristics:
RS5.3 RS5.5
Frequency range 76 – 77 GHz 76 – 77 GHz
Typ. e.i.r.p. peak 24 dBm 30 dBm
Typ. e.i.r.p. average 20 dBm 26 dBm
Modulation FMCW FMCW
Polarisation Horizontal Horizontal
1
Antenna gain 15 dBi 20 dBi
We would like to operate these two radar sensors during test drives on public roads in your country.
We herewith ask you to grant a test license for those test drives.
Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Best regards,
