Dear Minister Ligi,
I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your participation in the Eastern Border
Regions High-Level Conference on 25 and 26 June 2025 in Bialowieza, Poland. It was a
pleasure meeting you there and exchanging in person on the multiple challenges which the
EU’s Eastern border regions and countries are facing.
I listened very carefully to your valuable and constructive contributions to the debate on
socio-economic and security challenges by EU’s Eastern border regions and the possible
solutions which you have proposed. I very much retain your suggestions for the
development of the Pact for the Eastern Border Regions which I proposed during the
conference.
I am convinced that we can achieve our common goals for the EU’s Eastern border regions
only if we continue our excellent collaboration. In this vein, I am already looking forward
to your substantial support and contribution to making the Pact for the Eastern Border
Regions a success for your regions and for Europe.
