ROMANIA MINISTRY OF NATIONAL DEFENCE GENERAL STAFF OF DEFENCE “CAROL I” NATIONAL DEFENCE UNIVERSITY LETTER of INVITATION DEAR COMMANDANT / PRESIDENT / RECTOR, “Carol I” National Defence University invites you to participate in the 22nd edition of the international scientific conference STRATEGIES XXI – Technologies, Military Applications, Simulation and Resources This important scientific event is being organized by The Command and Staff Faculty in collaboration with The Interdisciplinary Doctoral School, The Research Center of Military Art and Critical Infrastructure Protection, The Advanced Distributed Learning Department, The Euro - Atlantic Resilience Center, The Romanian National Cyber Security Directorate, National Institute for Research & Development in Informatics, Military Equipment and Technologies Research Agency and Cantacuzino National Military Medical Institute for Research and Development. The aim of the conference is to provide the platform for Students, Researchers, Academicians, Decision Makers and Representatives of the defense industry to present the knowledge and ideas in the recent trends of today’s operational environment. Strategies XXI will provide an excellent international forum for sharing knowledge, disseminate expertise, and gain new insights into the transformations of today’s operational environment. The characteristics of the security environment, marked by volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity, along with its trends and technological developments, are driving significant changes in the military operations approach. In this context, the following highly relevant topics will be discussed: - planning and leading military actions / operations; - force protection; - multi-domain operations; - advanced technologies in the current battle space; - cyber security; - the role of artificial intelligence in the decision-making process. The Conference will run for one full day and it will be held in-person, in Bucharest, on “Carol I” National Defence University premises. However, for registered participants unable to physically attend the Conference, virtual connectivity will be available on ILIAS platform. English is the official language of the conference.
