To the Network of the Presidents of the Supreme Judicial Courts of the European Union
Dear colleagues,
Having regard to the legislative process initiated in Romania concerning the statute of judges and judicial organisation, I would be grateful if you could answer to the following questions until April 1, 2021:
1) According to your national legislation, which are the differences between the statute of the judges of the supreme court and the statute of the judges of the other courts?
2) In your national legislation, is the organisation of the supreme court regulated in a separate law concerning exclusively the supreme court or in a law which regulates both the organisation of the supreme court and the organisation of the other courts?
3) As concerns the disciplinary liability of the judges of the supreme court, which is the institution entitled to initiate the disciplinary action, the institution entitled to apply the disciplinary sanctions and the institution entitled to review a decision concerning the disciplinary liability of the judges of the supreme court?
Yours sincerely,
Judge Corina-Alina CORBU
President of the Romanian High Court of Cassation and Justice
