First on behalf of the Ministry and on my personal behalf, I express my deep respect to You for your contribution to the development of sports both nationally and internationally. It is important to note that along with other sports, cooperation in the field of supporting ethno sports is very essential. The most obvious example is an active participation of the both athletes in national types of sports in local and international events across the globe. In this respect, among all main events put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan H.E. Sh.Mirziyovev in this realm, with a great pleasure I want to put emphasize on the organization and conduct of the International Ethnosports Festival in Khiva city of the Khorezm Region of the Republic of Uzbekistan in close cooperation with the World Ethnosport Confederation (WEC) on 7-10 of September 2023 with a view of ensuring the implementation of the Presidential decree № 259 dated May 25, 2022 “On measures for the popularization and development of ethnic sports” (Annex). For reference: A total of 10 sports events will be organized, ofwhich 3 World Championships (event and rock climbing, mass wrestling, Uzbek martial arts), 6 sports demonstrations (Turon martial arts, Kurash (wrestling), belt wrestling and three wrestling, equestrian events, archery, bird hunting), 1 international tournament (Belt Wrestling). Within the Festival, it is planned to hold the High-level Forum of Ministers and Heads of organizations, responsible for sports in partnership with the World Ethnosport Confederation and hi person participation of the President of the WEC Mr.N.B.Erdogan with a view of further development and popularization of ethnosport types on September 8 this year. In this regard and taking into account the importance of organizing this event and further development of our relations in the field of sports, we will be gently honored and pleased to invite You to attend personally and be an honorable guest in both events such as International Ethnosports Festival and the High-level Forum in September 7-10, 2023 in Khiva. Expenses related to meals, accommodation and internal logistics of the delegations are covered by the host party, the international air travel (air tickets) is covered by the sending party. With kind regards and all good wishes, Minister A.Ikramov THE CONCEPT of organizing the international festival of ethnosport, which is planned to be held in the city of Khiva The main aim of this concept is to ensure the fulfilment of the tasks set out in Presidential Decree No. P D -259 of 25 May 2022 on "Measures to promote and develop ethno-sports", and to this end it is intended to organize an international festival of ethno-sports at a high level. The International Ethno-Sport Festival will be held for the first time on 7-10 September 2023 at the Ichan Kala Complex in the city of Khiva. Guests from 65 countries are expected to be invited to the festival: The festival's chief guest is Bilal Najmeddin Erdogan, chairman of the World Confederation of Ethnosports; The number of invited guests is 1,500 : of which dignitaries - 250 (Minister of Sport, Assistant Minister of Sport, heads of ethno-sports associations, +1 ); officials and athletes - 1250 ; VIP guests ( 250 ) will be accommodated at the Farovon Hotel in Khiva; Guests, servants and athletes ( 1,250 persons) will be accommodated in 144 hotels operating in Khiva ( 83 of which are located in Ichan Kala , 61 in Khiva). Programme of the international ethno-festival September 7 - Reception of delegations and hotel accommodation; September 8 - from 08:00 to 09:00 there will be a parade from the railway station to " Ichan-Kala ", the beginning of the events - from 09:00 to 17:00 ; The official opening of the Ethno-Sport Festival starts at 17:00 . September 8 - traditional exhibitions and sports competitions will take place at the festival from 14:00 to 20:00 ; September 9 - from 09:00 to 19:00 the traditional exhibitions and sports competitions planned for the festival will finish; September 9 - Festival closing ceremony from 19:00 to 22:00 ; September 10th - Departure of foreign guests and participants T he following tasks were planned to organise the ethno-sports festival 1. T he art of popular culture : “ beshik tui ” , wedding, “ sunnat tui ” ; A rope will be installed inside the Ichan Kala complex to demonstrate the art of rope walking to visitors (2); There will be exhibitions of Tanovar dancing, Uzbek national song maqom, and the history of Uzbek literature. 2. Handicrafts : Uzbek national paper, national fabrics, ceramics and woodcarving; Exhibition of paintings and embroidery; an exhibition of the products of pottery masters will be organised. 3. National sports and folk games : National sports (12): kurash; kurash; belted kurash; triathlon; Strong man games and lifting weights; Uzbek martial arts; Turon martial arts; mas wrestling; bird hunting; archery; kupkari (horse racing); Kurash on horseback; archery on horseback. Demonstration performances and international competitions in these sports will be held as part of the International Ethno-Sport Festival. For girls - satin skirt, satin dress, black shoes, cap on head, girls' hair braided into braids. 4. National dishes and the melon festival : Different dishes will be prepared during the festival by skilful chefs from the regions; A culinary championship will take place, the championship will be divided into two sections, and the winning chefs will be awarded by the National Chefs Association; The exhibitions of melon crops grown in our country will be organized as part of the festival . 5. Organisational matters Special Mercedes-Benz W 220 luxe sedan for "VIP" guests (15) and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter cars (15). 20 Golden Dragon buses will be allocated to athletes . At the opening ceremony, trees will be planted on 30 hectares of land and an " International Ethno-Sports Park " will be established together with 1st category guests (the Chairman of the International Confederation of Ethno-Sports, the Minister o f Sports Development, the Mayor of Khorezm Province, the Chairman of the Uzbekistan Ethno-Sports Association). A press centre will be set up in the Ichan-Kala complex: A list of press officers involved in the international festival is being compiled; Special photo-zones will be organised in 4 locations for guests and residents. There will be a story about the history of Turkic states and a video about the city of Khiva. A buffet will be organised for all participants on the first day of the festival. A special dining area for guests, servants and sportsmen will be set up in the Ichan Kala complex. (large awnings) In this case, meals are only available by special voucher. A forum with Class 1 guests will be held at the Faravon Hotel. More than 10 memoranda of cooperation will be signed during the forum. The closing cere mony will feature a Gala with performances by the singers ( Ogabek Sobirov, Bunyodbek Saidov, Khulkar Abdullayeva, Mahmud Namozov, Yulduz Usmonova, Raikhon Ganieva, Munisa Riz aeva, the Yalla group and others). A drone show will take place durin g the G ala. (Ethno-sports species will be depicted on the backdrop of the Humo bird). The final part of the festival will feature fireworks (10 minutes).
