Dear Sir/Madam, I am Dr. Musah Sulemana, Head of Research and Innovations at Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) . GIFEC is an Agency under Ministry of Communications and Digital Technology and Innovations (MoCDTI) under Ghana government. It was established pursuant to the Electronic Communications Act, 2008 (ACT 775) to provide financial resources for the establishment of universal service and access for all communities especially unserved and underserved rural communities in Ghana and to facilitate the provision of basic telephony, internet service, multimedia service, broadband and broadcasting services to these communities. To achieve these objectives GIFEC over the years had implemented several projects through three key Programmes: Rural Connectivity, Cyber Laboratory and Digital Skills Training. The research unit of GIFEC therefore intend to embark on international trips to learn and share knowledge on digital technologies being implemented by other countries and to help replicate these technologies in Ghana to bridge the digital divide between rural and urban communities.
