Dear Mr. Minister,
On the occasion of the Polish presidency of the Council of the European Union, 1 am honoured to invite you
10 participate in the conference Energy securily and the region in transition organized by the Ministry of lndustry of the
Republic of Poland on the 23rd of April 2025 in Katowice, Poland. The confererice is one of the six most important events
that wilI be held during the Polish Presidency. The event will be highlighted by the presence of the Prime Minister ot the
Republic of Poland, Mr Donald Tusk. 1 am pleased to invite you to participate in a debate within the discussion panel
entitled Just transition about European industrial regions and areas dependent on conventional energy in the face of
transition challenges, and on the toois and obstacles we face in achieving the goal of a sustainable transition.
Katowice is the capital of one of Europes centres undergoing industrial, energy and regional transition. It is a huge
task for the European Unions economy, especiaily as ts accompanied by threats arising from increasing geopolitical
challenges. Your participation in this conference wiII be a great opportunity for an exchange of views on energy
and economic security, which would contribute to finding the best possible solution for many, not yet decarbonised,
economies around the world.
Our meeting will begin with a working breakfaston The diversification of energyresources and Europe’s security.
After the working breakfast, you are invited 10 participate in the opening panel of the event Europe’s energy security.

We would like to continually emphasise that security, understood through the lens of energy security, is a key component
of stable growth in Europe.
The conference is an integral part of the European Economic Congress one of the most prestigious international

economic events in Europe that gathers thousands of guests from ali over the world, creating a space for debate among
politicians, opinion leaders, diplomats, managers, investors, experts and academics. We are also envisaging a number
of accompanying events such as seminars, discussion paneis and study tours in economic transition sites organized
by entities related to energy and the transilion of post-mining regions.
The conference witl be preceded by a dinner titled Silesian Evening for VIP guests, which is scheduled on the 22fld
of April 2025 at 7 pm, to which 1 am also kindly extending an invitation. This evening event will be held in the historical
building of the Silesian Voivodeship Office in Katowice, a symbol of the cultural heritage of Upper Silesia.
