In accordance with the planning agreed at the meeting on 10 September 2024, the AI Office would like to set-up of the ‘Phase II’ AI Board sub-groups foreseen for the first half of 2025. Therefore, the AI Office kindly requests Member States to nominate, in writing to EU- [email protected], by 5 February, representatives from Member States’ authorities or other public entities for each of the following ‘Phase II’ sub-groups: 1. AI Act interplay with other Union legislation: One technical-level representative and substitutes from relevant Member States’ ministries. Member States may nominate multiple substitutes for different areas of legislation, who can participate alternatively depending on the topic discussed. Nominees should have expertise related to one or, preferably, multiple areas of Union legislation, in particular legislation listed in Annex I of the AI Act and other relevant Union legislation. 2. Annex III High-risk AI: One technical-level representative and substitutes from Member States’ ministries responsible for AI policy and relevant supervisory authorities. Member States may nominate multiple substitutes for different Annex III areas, who can participate alternatively depending on the topic discussed. Nominees should have expertise related to the practical application of AI in the areas of Annex III and to relevant sectoral legislation (except in areas that are Commission européenne/Europese Commissie, 1049 Bruxelles/Brussel, BELGIQUE/BELGIË – Tel. +32 22991111 [email protected] covered by other subgroups, notably the sub-group on Law Enforcement and Security and Financial Services). 3. Law Enforcement and Security: One technical-level representative and substitutes from relevant Member States’ ministries and relevant supervisory authorities. Member States may nominate multiple substitutes for different areas of expertise, who can participate alternatively depending on the topic discussed. Nominees should have expertise related to the practical application of AI in relation to the areas of Annex III point 1, points 6 and 7 or prohibited practices that are relevant for law enforcement, security, border management, migration and asylum and to relevant sectoral legislation. 4. Financial Services: One technical-level representative and one substitute from relevant Member States’ ministries and relevant supervisory authorities. Nominees should have expertise related to the practical application of AI in the area of financial services, and to the applicable Union financial services legislation and specific issues related to high-risk use cases in Annex III, points 5 b) and c) AI Act.
