Given the circumstances resulting from the Covid-I9 pandemic, we have already been obliged to postpone on two occasions the conference co-organised by the Court of Justice of the European Union and the Latvian Constitutional Court, titled "EUnited in diversity: between common constitutional traditions and national identities". The conference was intended to contribute to a dialogue between the Constitutional Courts of the EU Member States and the Court of Justice conceming the appropriate balance to be struck between the primacy of EU law and the supremacy of national constitutions in the law of those Member States. We believe that the topics we had hoped to discuss at the conference, are still as relevant and significant as ever. Hence, we are pleased to inform you that the conference will now be held in Riga, Latvia, on2-4 September 2021. The invitation to this conference is addressed to the Presidents of the Constitutional Courts or other equivalent national courts of each F.U Member State (two judges per delegation), as well as to judges and advocates general of the Court of Justice. We kindly invite you to save the dates of 2-4 September 2021 inyour diaries. A formal invitation will be sent out in April 202L We indeed hope that by that time, it will be possible - as the global health situation improves - to confirm the dates for the conference without reservation.
