Dear Hydrographer, 1. Reference A proposed the adoption of Revision 4.1.0 of IHO Publication S-57 Appendix B.1, Annex A - Use of the Object Catalogue for ENC – as recommended by the IHO ENC Maintenance Working Group (ENCWG); and endorsed by the IHO Hydrographic Services and Standards Committee and IHO Council. 2. The Secretariat of the IHO thanks the 59 Member States that replied to Reference A: Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Bangladesh, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, Ecuador, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iran (Islamic Republic of), Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Mauritius, Monaco, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Republic of Korea, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay and Venezuela. 3. All 59 Member States supported the adoption of Revision 4.1.0 of S-57 Appendix B.1, Annex A. One Member State offered aneditorial comment in addition to their vote. This comment and the outcome of the review by the Chair of the ENCWG are provided in Annex A to this Circular Letter. 4. When the Reference was issued there were 87 Member States of the IHO with three States suspended. In accordance with the provisions of the Convention on the IHO as amended, the minimum number of affirmative votes required was 28. As a result, and taking into account the editorial corrections reported in Annex A, the proposed Revision 4.1.0 of S-57 Appendix B.1, Annex A has been adopted. 5. New Edition, 1.4.4 Version control, 16 New Object) to the TSMAD and DIPWG working groups that no longer exists. Comment from the Chair of the ENCWG: The ENCWG Chair thanks Estonia for its observations. The final published UOC Edition 4.1.0 will include these additional editorial amendments to change references to TSMAD and DIPWG to ENCWG.
