GENERAL APPROVAL General Approval by Estonian Civil Aviation Administration for Estonian operators to carry solutions containing UN1987 Alcohols, n.o.s. and UN1170 Ethanol solution on board their aircraft This general approval issued by Estonian Civil Aviation Administration in accordance with Estonian Aviation Act §54 and ICAO Doc 9284-AN/905 Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air (Technical Instructions). To allow Estonian operators (who are not declared above mentioned substances as a part of their “loose equipment list” for each aircraft type and type of operation according to ICAO TI 2;2.2.1 a)) to carry solutions containing UN1987 Alcohols, n.o.s. and UN1170 Ethanol solution on board their aircraft to make hand disinfectant solutions readily available to their passengers and crews. Operators should as a minimum ensure that disinfectants containing dangerous goods are properly stowed and secured in upright position to prevent the possible leakage, accidental spillage, damage or risk of fire (e.g. away from heat sources) and that the spare bottles are also properly packed. Whereas the quantity of each receptacle should not exceed 0.5 Litres, the total quantity on board should not exceed 10 Litres. Operators should assess the additional potential risks posed by the carriage of these substances and inform the crew of any necessary change in the emergency procedures.
