Dear Sir/Madam,
Article 20 of the Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU provides that the CE Marking shall ‘be
affixed visibly, legibly and indelible. I would like to know how to interpret the case that CE mark
which marked in the battery compartment of a handset of DECT phone system.(see attached)
Normally, when users installed the batteries, they must open the battery cover, thus CE mark
must be visible. And this practice has been agreed by TCAM under RTTE. I checked with some
Notified Body who accepted this practice. However, German Surveillance Lab said that RED
doesn't follow this practice. I tried to find such kind of information but in vain and most of the
DECT phone manufacturers also never heard about this information. Would you advise your
comment on this situation?
Should you need further information, please feel free to let me know.
Best Regards,
Should you have any question, please feel free to contact me.
