Dear Permanent Delegate,
On behalf of the Director-General, I have the honour of inviting your country to the eleventh session
of the General Assembly of the States Parties to the Convention for the Safeguarding of the
Intangible Cultural Heritage, which will take place at UNESCO Headquarters (7, place de Fontenoy,

Please find enclosed the provisional agenda for the session. Documents corresponding to items
inscribed on this agenda will be published in the six official languages of the United Nations (Arabic,
Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish) on the dedicated webpage of the Convention
(https://ich.unesco.org/en/11ga) by 18 May 2026.
Simultaneous interpretation of the debates will be provided in all six languages and will be
broadcasted live on the dedicated webpage of the Convention.
Out of concern for the environment and in order to reduce costs, printed copies of the documents
will not be provided. If you are unable to download the documents, you are kindly invited to contact
the Secretariat of the Convention at
[email protected].
During the lunch break on 18 June 2026, an information and exchange meeting will be convened
by the Secretariat on the capacity-building approaches under the 2003 Convention, with particular
attention to the global network of facilitators. Unlike in recent sessions, the Secretariat will not
coordinate specific side events – States Parties wishing to organize events in conjunction with the
session of the General Assembly are kindly requested to contact directly the relevant services of
the Organization (see the webpage for further information).
