José Miguel Campos Your Ref: 03.10.2024 and 18.10.2024 Director JD Services Our Ref: 23.10.2024 No 9-2/2478-3 Answer to request Dear Mr Campos, We received Your request regarding Directive (EU) 2022/2555 of the European Parliament and of the Council (NIS2 Directive) and its transposition to Estonian law. We are currently in the process of drafting the national legislation that shall make amendments to our national laws (primarily to our Cybersecurity Act1) in order to transpose NIS2 Directive. Said draft shall be made public before the end of this year at the relevant national portal called Eelnõude Infosüsteem2. This step is the public consultation phase. We have also received the statement3 that was signed by multiple parties on transpositioning of NIS2 Directive. Said statement contains several aspects that we have already taken into account when drafting the relevant legislation that transposes the NIS2 Directive, including the need to set a grace period for those new entities that shall need to adhere to our national law.
