IHO File No. S1/5015 & S3/2620 CIRCULAR LETTER 44 /2017 21 Ju ly 2017 RECRUITMENT OF A PROJECT DIRECTOR FOR PROJECT S EABED 2030 Reference : IHO CL 40 /2017 dated 13 June 2017 - Nippon Foundation Funding f or Project Seabed 2030 Dear Hydrographer , As reported in Reference A , the Nippon Foundation has planned to increase its involvement with the IHO-IOC GEBCO (General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans) pro gramme by contributing up to US$18.5M over ten years to support the specific goal of comprehensively mapping all of the seafloor by 2030. The aim of this initiative which is called “ Seabed 2030 ” is to compile all available and newly collected bathymetric data into a high quality, high resolution digital model of the ocean floor and to promote international efforts to collect new data . The GEBCO programme has recently advertised the post of Proje ct Director for Seabed 2030 . Detailed information about the role and responsibilities of the post and instructions for applicants are available from the GEBCO Seabed 2030 web site: http://seabed2030.gebco.net/ Applications should be submitted by e-mail to [email protected] no later than 1700 UTC on 25 August 2017 .
