Teema: COVID-19 pandemic/Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia
Dear Colleagues,
The unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic has become a powerful reminder of
our interconnectedness and vulnerabilities all across the continents.
The virus respects no borders, age, ethnicity, confession and society.
On the other hand, the fight against the ongoing pandemic requires not
only self-preservation and resilience on the national level, but it
urges the necessity for a transparent, robust, coordinated, large-scale
and science-based global response in the spirit of solidarity.
During these hard weeks, we are deeply saddened by the dramatic loss of
life and the suffering faced by people around the world. In difficult
and challenging times like these, we are once again strongly reminded of
the importance of taking care of one another and strengthening our bonds
of friendship and mutual respect. The pandemic also directly affects the
ongoing international collaboration and regional projects between our
institutions, as well as it disallows envisaged large-scale joint
gatherings to take place in different parts of the world.
Now more than ever, it is our belief that the global family of
constitutional courts and equivalent institutions must stand united and
work together in the face of the global COVID-19 pandemic with the aim
of ensuring the rule of law, legal cooperation and protection of
fundamental rights and freedoms of our citizens.
On behalf of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia, and in
a spirit of true solidarity, I wish you and your families strong health,
preservation, well-being and resilience.
Sincerely,
Dr. Hrayr TOVMASYAN
President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia
