JUST-JTRA-EJTR-AG-2020 – Just-AG Justice Action Grant LETTER OF SUPPORT Title of the project: Interactive language training events on cross-border mediation Applicant: Academy of European Law (ERA) Full legal name in original language and in English (if applicable) of the supporting organisation, address and country of register office/seat: Riigikohus / Supreme Court of Estonia 17 Lossi St, Tartu, 50093, Estonia Declaration: In the event of a successful outcome to the application for the above project proposal submitted by ERA, I would like to express the commitment of my organisation to: - collect and process applications of the 3 Estonian judges interested in participating in one training seminar on civil & commercial mediation abroad; - collect and process applications of the 3 Estonian judges interested in participating in one training seminar on family mediation abroad; - disseminate information / raise awareness among my judiciary on the whole series of language training events. Reasons why my organisation is suitable to play this role: The Supreme Court of Estonia ascertains the training needs of judges, prepares their training programmes and organises the implementation of thereof. The Supreme Court is also responsible for the selection of Estonian participants regarding judicial trainings taking place abroad. Estonian judges have previously taken part in judicial trainings about language training. It is important to furthermore train them on language skills, especially in mediation to support cross- border mediation.
