The 19th IALA Conference World Lighthouse Heritage
Exhibition
18th MAY 2017
Dear IALA National members,
Subject: Request for the Participation in the World Lighthouse Heritage
Exhibition
In May of 2018 the Republic of Korea and IALA will host the World Lighthouse
Heritage Exhibition in Incheon, Korea. The Exhibition will illustrate the
technology, materials, industries, and architecture involved with lighthouses
over the centuries, and the impact on society and the environment. It will take
place during the XIXth IALA Conference and will be open without entry fee to
Conference participants and the public.
The Exhibition is open to all IALA members to send exhibition material and we
hope to receive a positive response from you to ensure a good geographic and
technical representation of the historical lighthouse heritage. The organisers will
provide the necessary exhibition stands, visitor control barriers and staff.
An IALA member sending exhibition material will be responsible for the
transport costs of that material, but may apply for the limited financial support
available from Korea for exhibition artefacts which it judges to be of highest
significance.
If exhibition material is donated to Korea then Korea will cover the reasonable
cost of transportation and insurance to Korea, and will display the artefacts
permanently in the Korea National Lighthouse Museum with the name and
country of the donor organisation.
We urge you to participate in the heritage exhibition and would be grateful if you
would submit your application, using the attached form, by 30th June 2017 using
e-mail to
[email protected] or fax to +82 2 2627 8315.
For enquiries on shipping of exhibition artefacts, please consult the IALA
Conference secretariat in Korea. Contact details may be found at the end of the
application form.
We look forward to your participation in the 19th IALA Conference World
Lighthouse Heritage Exhibition.
