Ares(2024)5164941 - 16/07/2024 EUROPEAN COMMISSION DIRECTORATE-GENERAL FOR COMMUNICATIONS NETWORKS, CONTENT AND TECHNOLOGY The Director-General Brussels, CNECT.H.4/KP Their Excellencies the Permanent Representatives of the Member States and of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway to the European Union Subject: Appointment of representatives to the eIDAS Committee Your Excellency, The eIDAS Regulation (EU) No 910/20141, as amended by Regulation (EU) 2024/1183 2 establishing the European Digital Identity Framework, confers implementing powers on the Commission for the adoption of implementing acts, in accordance with Article 291(2) of the TFEU3. For this purpose, the Regulation provides that the Commission shall be assisted by a committee (the “eIDAS Committee”), within the meaning of Regulation (EU) No 182/20114. Following the above, a number of new implementing acts need to be adopted by the Commission in accordance with the examination procedure referred to in Article 48(2) of the Regulation. Considering that the eIDAS Committee was last convened in 2015, I would kindly request that you update the information on your representative(s) of the Committee by confirming the current representative(s) or by appointing new representative(s). Member States and EEA states are kindly asked to communicate the names and contact details of the representative(s) of the Committee to [email protected] within 2 weeks of receipt of this letter.
