Article 7 of the Code encourages WHO Member States to designate a National Authority to exchange information on the international recruitment and migration of health personnel, and on the Code implementation. The Director-General is in turn mandated to report this to the World Health Assembly every three years. The report of Fifth Round of National Reporting will be presented to the Seventy-eighth World Health Assembly in May 2025 and will inform the review of the relevance and effectiveness of the Code. For this purpose, Member States are requested to designate or confirm a national authority (DNA) to facilitate information exchange by sending an email to [email protected] by 31 January 2024. Member States who have nominated a DNA in 2021 through C.L.18.2021 are requested to update and confirm the name and contact information for the Fifth Round of National Reporting. Member States who have not yet designated or updated a national authority are requested to do so by providing their contact information to the WHO Secretariat. The current list of DNAs is ... enclosed for ease of reference and appropriate action. Following the receipt of this information, the WHO Secretariat will contact the DNAs with the National Reporting Instrument 2024 and orient them on the reporting process. The DNAs should be authorized to communicate directly or as provided by national law or regulations, with DNAs of other Member States and with the WHO Secretariat on information related to international mobility and migration of health personnel.
