Dear Mr. Chief lustice,
On the occasion of the 23'd annlversary of the Constitution of Ukraine, the
Constitutional Court of Ukraine, in cooperation with the National Academy of Legal
Sciences of Ukraine, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, with the support
of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine, will organise International Conference
"Human Rights and National Security: Ensuring the Balance of Human Rights and the
Interests of the State. The Role of the Constitutional Jurisdiction Body", to be held on
June 27, 20t9 in Kyiv (Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv,
60 Volodymyrska str.).
Representatives of state authorities, research and academic circles, judges and
former judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, as well as representatives of the
constitutional courts - members of the Association of Constitutional Justice of the
Countries of the Baltic and Black Sea Regions (BBCJ) and other constitutional
jurisdiction bodies are invited to participate.
On behalf ofthe judges ofthe Constitutional Court ofUkraine and myself, I have
the honour to invite you to take part in this important event.
The programme of the conference provides for reports of domestic and
international experts, short presentations and general discussion. The collection of
materials of the international conference will be published afterwards.
The working languages of the conference will be Ukrainian and English.
Simultaneous translation will be provided.
Please note that all expenses related to hotel accommodation from June 26 to
June 28, 2019 (2 nights), meals and local transport will be covered by the organisers.
In order to properly organise the event, we would very much appreciate if you
could kindly confirm your participation, as well as the desire to make a report
(max. 20 min.) or a short presentation (5-7 min.) by June 3120!9.
