The eighth meeting of the IHO Inter-Regional Coordination Committee (IRCC8) took place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), from 29 to 31 May, hosted by the General Headquarters (GHQ) Armed Forces, Military Survey Department of the UAE. The meeting was chaired by Dr Parry Oei (Singapore) and attended by the Chairs or representatives of the 15 Regional Hydrographic Commissions (RHCs), the subordinate bodies of the IRCC and 20 observers. A total of 41 participants from 21 countries were present. 2. The minutes of IRCC8, together with the list of actions arising from the meeting and their current status, and the IRCC work programme for 2016-2017 are now available from the IRCC section of the IHO website (www.iho.int > Committees & WG > IRCC > IRCC8). Next meeting 3. The 9th meeting of IRCC (IRCC9) will be held from 12 to 14 June 2017 in Paramaribo, Suriname. Representatives of Member States who may require a visa are advised to submit their applications well in advance. IRCC9 will be preceded by the 15th meeting of the Capacity Building Sub-Committee from 7 to 9 June 2017 which will also be held in Paramaribo.
