Subject: Bonn Dialogue on the SDGs report for the WHO European Region
Dear Ms Denks,
Dear Ms Telling,
Dear Ms Ohov,
We hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer.
WHO European Centre for Environment and Health is organizing a Bonn Dialogue on Environment and Health <https://www.who.int/europe/teams/who-european-centre-for-environment-and-health-(bonn-germany)/bonn-dialogues-on-environment-and-health> “Reflecting on Progress in the WHO European Region towards the SDGs in the context of the Ostrava Declaration on Environment and Health: mid-way to 2030”.
Given Estonia’s (Environmental Board) successful experience in organizing a seven-year educational plan to increase awareness related to sustainable development, and considering the forward-looking nature of the Ministerial Conference <https://www.who.int/europe/event/seventh-ministerial-conference-on-environment-and-health> , we would like to invite you to share your countries expertise with the members of the EHTF and the general public during the upcoming Dialogue. The online event is scheduled for 8 September 2023, starting at 9:30 and lasting for 75 minutes. This will be followed by a 15-minute break and a possible online consultation with the members of the EHTF from 11:00 to 12:00 CEST.
For your convenience, please find below a brief summary of the case study referred to above (page 194-195): https://apps.who.int/iris/bitstream/handle/10665/342345/9789289055772-eng.pdf
The Dialogue aims to present the recent findings from a WHO publication that highlights the progress made in implementing the Ostrava Declaration towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the WHO European Region <https://apps.who.int/iris/handle/10665/368166> . Member States from the Region will also share their experiences in taking actions for the environment and health, and discuss how they are closing the gaps towards meeting the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
As we work on the provisional programme, we will keep you informed and share further information with you soon.
In the meantime, please find attached a draft event flyer, which is for internal use only.
We would be truly grateful if you or your colleagues could consider taking an active role in the Dialogue, for example, as a panelist, and kindly request your response by Thursday, 10 August, if possible.
Please feel free to address any questions you may have.
Thank you very much for your consideration.
Kind regards,
Dovile Adamonyte
On behalf of EHP Secretariat
